Pick a hat up by the brim, not the crown — repeated pinching leaves permanent creases in felt and straw alike.
Cleaning
Brush felt counter-clockwise with a soft brush. Straw and raffia take a barely damp cloth, then air-dry away from heat.
Sweatband
Fold the inner band out after wear so it dries. Wipe it with a cloth and mild soap once a season.
Shape and storage
Store upside down on the crown or on a hat stand, in a box away from sunlight. Never leave a hat on a car parcel shelf.
Rain
Let a wet hat dry naturally on a towel, brim up. Reshape it gently while it is still slightly damp.
